Today the Dnipro side held its first session at the UDHTU sports complex on Naberezhna Peremohy, opening a new stage of preparation. This arena, with 550 seated and up to 700 standing places, remains the team's home venue.
Good news for the fans — the squad remains unchanged. Every player who, under head coach Oleksandr Kabanenko, claimed the BetKing Extra-League silver medals and a place in the UEFA Champions League will continue to play for Athletic Futsal. Keeping the core of the runners-up together was one of the key tasks of the off-season.
For now the team has gathered almost in full. The Brazilian universal player Andre Luis, whose holiday will last a few more days, will join his teammates a little later. It was he who featured in every official match of the past campaign and was named the league's best foreign player, so his return to the court is awaited with particular impatience.
In the coming days the squad faces conditioning sessions and a medical examination. The main goal of this stage is to start preparation for the new season free of injuries and to gradually bring the players up to the required level of fitness.
